Program Support for "Shaking the Tree" Drum Circle

We are excited to announce the return of our "Shaking the Tree" Drum Circles at The Buttonwood Tree, every third Thursday of the month at 6:30, until 9:30 PM. The location is 605 Main St, Middletown, CT 06457. We encourage all to bring their own drum, but many different drums will be provided. The meeting space is wheelchair accessible. Drinks and snacks are for sale. There is a $10 suggested donation for adults, kids under 16 are free.
The monthly drum circle will be led by local music group Merganser.
- 1 imitation bomba drum
- 1 pair of bongos
- 1 large djembe: punchy low, ringing highs
- 1 small djembe: earthy, skin timbre
- 1 darbuka / doumbek: sharp attack and metallic ring
- 1 floor tom drum: highly recommend
- Plenty of mallets, tambourines, shakers, and aux perc
- Whistles and woodwinds encouraged (avoid brass or batteries)
