July's art gallery features an exhibition of experimental mixed-media cyanotypes and other vibrantly-colored works on paper by Robin Price, displayed amid a wrap-around “rainbow river” wall installation in celebration of PRIDE Month.

Cyanotype printing is an early photochemical process from the 19th century. Coated paper is exposed to sunlight over time, revealing shades of deep blue once it is developed in water. The artist creates contours of exposure with her body and seashells.

This experience is a ritual of connection to the Ocean, inspired by the transformative experience of being immersed within her ancient rhythms. Along with the characteristic deep blues of cyanotypes, these works resonate with other rich colors layered in with colored pencil, letterpress printing, gouache paint, and collage.

The exhibition can be viewed the following dates:

Wednesday, July 5th 11:00 am - 12:00 pm | July 19th 11 am - 1 pm

Thursdays: June 29th 4 pm | July 27th 4 - 6 pm

Saturdays: July 8th 3 - 5 pm | July 15th 4 - 6 pm | July 22 3 - 5 pm
