Poetry Night with Nancy Manning and Karen Ciosek
- This program is a poetry reading featuring the original work of Nancy Manning and Karen Ciosek. Their poetry examines people, places, and nature.
- Nancy Manning earned an MFA in Poetry from Southern Connecticut State University. Her poetry and prose have appeared in several publications, including the The Orchards, 2025 Connecticut Literary Anthology, Humans of the World, Naugatuck River Review, and Unmagnolia. Her poetry collections are entitled Amethyst Garden, The Unspoken of Our Days, What Glues Us Together, andAbsence. Her novel Undertow of Silence won the 2012 TAG publishing award for Best New YA Novel. A member of two book clubs and two writing groups, Nancy taught middle school, high school, and college English classes.
- Karen Ciosek retired from teaching in Connecticut; she is a lifetime bird watcher. She holds an MFA in poetry from Southern Connecticut State University. She runs a poetry group at the Wallingford Public Library that is called Saturday Mornings with Poetry. Since 2014, Karen has published their annual anthology, Perennial Awakenings. With Nancy, she attends the small New Haven women’s poetry group. An avid gardener, Karen is currently president of the Wallingford Garden Club, has been cross-country in the US, and traveled to Canada, Mexico, Asia, Australia, Europe, and Morocco.
