Mary DiPaola/Heather Schweiger: Classical Improvisations
Mary DiPaola, Pianist/Music Educator
Ms. DiPaola has been teaching in West Hartford Public Schools for 7 years. She previously taught in the East Hartford district and at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford. She holds a Bachelor's degree in piano performance from the Jackie McLean Institute at Hartt and a Master's degree in Music Education from the Hartt School of Music. In addition to teaching general music and choir, Ms. DiPaola continues to perform jazz piano in small ensembles throughout Connecticut. She has appeared in the Hartford Festival of Jazz, the Litchfield Jazz Festival and the Guinness Jazz Festival. Mary's latest recording featuring renowned bassist Nat Reeves, entitled Grata, was released in 2024. She will be recording this year with her son, guitarist Tony Davis.

Heather Schweiger
Ms. Schweiger has been an educator in the West Hartford, CTdistrict for 25 years. She teaches vocal music at Bugbee Elementary school where she is also director of grades 4-5 choir. A Phi Beta Kappa member, she is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, where she earned a B.S. in Biology and fulfilled the requirements for a B.A. in Music. Following work in biology research at UConn and Yeale, she returned to school for certification in music education. She also holds a master's degree in biology and is certified to teach biology grades 7-12.
Ms. Schweiger enjoys performing and has accompanied soloists, numerous musicals, and choirs of all ages. She has performed throughout CT, NY, PA and at the White House in Washington, D.C.
