Emmanuel “Manny” Escobar is a dynamic musician and educator, with roots firmly planted in Jazz, R&B and Afro-Latin creative traditions. Graduate of the Alice S. Pfaelzer Conservatory at Merit School of Music, The Bloom School of Jazz under David Bloom, Chicago College of Performing Arts, under Jan Berry Baker, Paul Wertico and Mike Smith, Berklee College of Music under George Garzone, Jim Stinnett, Hal Crook and Bill Pierce. Private studies with James Moody, Armsted Christian and Rick Britto.
Emmanuel has performed and recorded with; Esperanza Spaulding, Wynton Marsalis, Reggie Workman, George Garzone, Joe Lovano, Loren Allred (The Greatest Showman), Art Ensemble of Chicago, Francisco Mela, Leo Blanco, Oscar Stagnaro, Mayra Andrade, Kassav, Warren Wolf, Maria de Barros, Teófilo Chantre, Fancha, Marquis Hill, Sara Tavares, Leo Genovese, Thaddeus Hogarth, Louis Cato and Stay Human, The Stout, Roberta Miranda, Jermaine Paul (Winner of The Voice S2), Southcoast Jazz Orchestra, Cesaria Evora Orchestra, Grace Evora, Boy Ge Mendes, Isaiah Sharkey, Ray Greene, Tito Paris, former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.
Emmanuel is an endorsing educator for Cannonball Musical Instruments, Endorsing artist for Antigua Winds, Rigotti Reeds and Syos Mouthpieces, signed performing artist with Nightshift Entertainment.
Adjunct faculty at Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts, adjunct faculty at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School, former Music Director at Providence Country Day School and Jazz History and Improvisation lecturer at the Zeiterion Theater, 2024 Artist in Residence - New Bedford National Whaler’s Museum, He has also served as faculty, director or lecturer at the following institutions: Global Learning Charter Public School, The Zeiterion Performing Arts Center - Creative Classroom, Black Ensemble Theatre (Chicago), The Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School, Providence Country Day School, Brown University (Africana Studies Dept.), Our Sister’s School, Dream Out Loud Arts Center, Youth Ambassadors Program (YAP!), 3rd Eye Unlimited, Umana Academy and Boston Community Leadership Academy, Founder and Co Director of the Providence Conservatory Lab School.
