Adam Jonkman Quartet
Born and raised in central Connecticut, Adam Jonkman has been around music his whole life. After finishing at Cromwell High School, he went on to study music education at Marywood University in Scranton, PA. It was there he developed a love for jazz, the saxophone, and the ability to share music with others. His love for jazz led him to New York, where he is now finishing his Master's at SUNY Purchase while studying under Gary Smulyan.
Adam has been playing professionally for 3 years now, touring up and down the East Coast playing with Elephants Dancing, a reggae/ska band that has recently entered many conversations in our scene as a top new band on the hunt to make it big. Additionally, he has been able to play with many of the best musicians in the professional world in Scranton, PA.
Adam has begun writing and arranging many original works while studying under some of the best in their field, Michael Phillip Mossman and Andrew Farber. As Adam transitions to a post-academia life, he is eager to let his music be heard and share a wonderful day or night of music-making with everyone!
