The Unfinished Story
The Unfinished Story is the Connecticut based, acoustic musical project of GP. Sometimes he drags along
some musical friends to play alongside him and help bring his musical creations to life, sometimes he
doesn’t. GP has been playing guitar for over 25 years and singing for over 15, but really only started
playing shows and recording music since 2014. Taking his hobby from the garage/bedroom, and bringing
it out more into the public. The music is in a singer-songwriter style, with a mix of emo, adult
contemporary, and folk.
The latest 2022 release from The Unfinished Story titled dark skies, clear heart includes 4 songs about
helping one another and even an alien invasion…typical 2022 topics. dark skies, clear heart features
more of a full sound than previous releases which came about from working hand in hand with Asher
Condit from Kingship Recording Company in Avon, CT. Asher’s musical skills, production and mixing
expertise helped this EP to include percussion, bass, multi-layered vocals, violins, and even a trumpet
solo to boot. But the songs still don’t lose the acoustic base and raw vocals from which they were
started.
The lead single Aliens was created literally after watching the amazing visuals in the movie Annihilation
during the pandemic. The song and lyrics were inspired by what he might do if aliens were to invade
Earth. Maybe. The song features amazing violin work from friend and CT musician Austin James of
Austin James and the Nomads and has a quirky cartoon video that was released with i
dark skies, clear heart is a follow up to 2018’s The Distance Between You and Me which featured
multiple songs with Kurt Baumer, from the band Lonestar, on fiddle. Including the song Long Distance
Love which was played on local radio stations in CT, western Mass, and Vermont. It was recorded, mixed
and mastered by Jake Subin at Telefunken Studios in South Windsor, CT. Teaming again with Asher and
Austin, work is almost complete on a new 5 song EP titled Bells and Whistles to be released in 2023.
