Acid Wash Nerds /The Coffee Sisters: Amanda Monaco & Karen Hogg play instruments from the Blue Guitar Collection

Join us for a unique performance as lifelong friends Amanda Monaco and Karen Hogg play an eclectic mix of music on a special pair of instruments from the famed Blue Guitar Collection. When both musicians got invitations to borrow instruments from this collection for a year, they knew that they had to do something together. Friends since meeting as teenagers at the National Guitar Workshop, Monaco and Hogg were even more excited when they discovered that they would be stewards for the Blue Pair, a mandolin and guitar built by master luthier Maegan Wells. Together, they will be performing a variety of original music and favorites from Jethro Burns, Norman Blake, and more.

In Victorian-era slang, “Coffee Sisters” refers to close female friends who get together to socialize over coffee. Amanda and Karen decided that this name was appropriate for a lifetime of friendship, coffee, and music. We hope you can join us as we honor our friendship with an evening of music on two very special instruments.
