Dogbite is an eclectic outfit dedicated to performing roots music of many kinds and writing songs in a variety of genres. The group’s current incarnation is a five-piece combo.

Drawing from a rich variety of sources, the band brings its own personality and interpretation to traditional songs as well as numbers penned by the likes of Ray Charles, Townes Van Zandt, and Fred Neil. Vocal harmonies, and strong songwriting round out the picture.

Micky Williston and Hugh Birdsall play guitar and sing. Doctor K holds down the drum chair, plays occasional keyboard, and sings. Charles Gervase plays bass. Sal Livingston is on tenor saxophone.

The group emerged from the Rock n’ Roll and coffeehouse scenes of New London, Connecticut, in 2001, an antidote to grim professionalism and narrow materialism.
